Shiki

Longest post ever, since i was bored.

Just watched finish an anime called "Shiki" Which means undead corpse in the anime. Quite serious anime, no comedy or whatever, people dies in almost every episode. Starts to get gore in the behind part where the Shiki were killed 1 by 1.
This anime is about a village, which almost had no connection to the outside city, living around 1300 residents. Ppl still continue the old custom in the village e.g burial of the dead. So one day, when the Kirishiki family came into the city, things started to get different. People died almost everyday.
throughout the anime, there are too much characters and names to rmb, so they will always like stating who is who, which i think its helpful as i only can rmb the face.

Before i intro some characters, i must explain that there are two types of undead. Shiki and Jinrou

Shiki, Corpse demon. They need human blood in order to live on. They have no pulse, cold abnormal temperature. They still have the memory and feelings. But they have no choice to hunt for human blood. Scare of those cross and stuff. Only can enter the person house if invited Much like a vampire. Cannot stand in sunlight or they will burn to death.

Jinrou. Werewolf. Although they are werewolf, not really is like can transform to wolf. They are like normal human, have pulse, breath, can stand in sunlight. Basically like a perfect Shiki. They can also eat normal food instead of human blood. Blood give them more power.

I shall list some of the major characters.

                                             
Kirishiki Sunako- Undead top, Life bottom

Her appearance is like a 13yr old girl, but i guess she lived for 100+ yrs, still feel that she is like a child though. As u can see from her eyes, she is a Shiki. She has a rare genetic disorder called SLC(i forgot what it stands for) but it means she can only come out at night, which i dun think will have any different since all Shiki cannot stand in sunlight.
Life, she was a girl in a well off family. I guess she was bitten by a guest which is a vampire and died
Undead, she and her kirishiki family move to the village. And soon alot stuff happen
My 1st impression of her is, she look quite scary from her dark purple/black eyes. But she is quite cute actually. I believe she is the leader of all shiki. Not much scenes of her. But i felt relieved that she survived.

Ozaki Toshio

A doctor in the village. He is 1 of the 1st to found out about Shiki. To me he is very smart. Also very cold blooded to be able to experiment on his wife after she risen as a shiki, can't blame him though as  he need to find ways to destroy the Shki and protect the village. He become the leader of Shiki resistance.

Muroi Seishin- Life top, undead bottom

He is a jr monk in the village. He also write books and Sunako and her family is a fan of his books.
He befriend with Sunako during the nightly visits at his place. Although he know that Sunako was a Shiki, he didn't take actions against them. Can tell he cares about Sunako and willingly joined the kirishiki household. In the end, b4 Sunako was about a be killed, he revived as a Jinrou and saved her, taking her out of the burning village. I think he is now the only Jinrou alive. I'm quite confused about him and his past. i know that he wanted to suicide when he was young but fail.

Yuuki Natsuno

A highschool boy. He is a very cold person, disliking Megumi as she got a crush on him? His closest friend would be Tohru who try very hard to befriend with him. After Megumi death, he has being veri paranoid of Megumi coming back to look at him outside the window, which she always do when she still alive. He and 2 others ppl dug out Megumi grave to check if the corpse really rise or not. 

He died by letting his best friend Tohru, who died and become a Shiki, suck blood and died eventually. He revived as a Jinrou. Although his a jinrou, he is on the village side, protecting the village and helping Ozaki.

Some not really main characters but gave me quite an impression

Yasumori Nao- Life top, undead bottom

She is a wife of Mikiyasu, they had a son, and live with their mother and father. She is a happy existence in the village

During a festival, the kirishiki couple walk pass her and her family. Being friendly, she invited them to visit them when they are free. After that she felt ill and died eventually. 

As a shiki, she killed her whole family, hoping they will rise and join her, but her whole family didn't rise at all. NOT EVEN ONE!! Although she is not the only one who attack their own family, i think she is the only one that kill the whole of her family. Maybe she left me a deep impression is coz i think she is quite ke lian, can tell she is actually a very nice person in life.

She came from a unhappy family, parent are alcoholics and had a bad childhood. when she is married to Mikiyasu, she is very happy, Mikiyasu's parent were very nice to her, had a son, everything was really great, until she died and rised. Her final moment was really very sad during the all-out war. I was hoping she can survive. 

Btw her appearance at ep9, which is the picture on top really shocked me when Ozaki opened the window.

Shimizu Megumi-Life top, undead bottom
A high school girl who hates living in this village due to its very dull. She always wear those very nice, pretty dress that is not suitable in the village and always get teased. She had a crush on Natsuno. Always bitching about how bad is the village and always hoping that she can go to the city one day to live. But soon she died.
She leave a impression is coz i tot she is one of the main characters and she died very early. Had the brightest coloured hair. And her final moments was very brutal. Her face was crushed by the truck. Although she did a lot of bad stuff like, she dun hesitate to atk the villagers/curse the village/bit Natsuno's best friend out of jealously, i dun think anyone death should be this brutal.
If i'm not wrong, she is the last Shiki to be killed

Tatsumi

A Jinrou. He appears to be a very carefree, happy go lucky guy, but the truth is, he is cold blooded and love to see ppl suffer. He is the servant of the Kirishiki family and has great respect to Sunako. He does almost all that stuff, e.g taking care of the family during day, dig up risen corpse(since jinrou have good nose), teach basics to newbie shiki, kidnaps ppl from city to train the new shiki. In the end he was destroy along with Natsuno by explosion.
He give me quite an impression coz, he is always doing things for the shiki, for Sunako. He will had done things his way, e.g. killing Natsuno as he didn't want to join, he didn't coz Sunako say no. He is very loyal, and i respect his loyalty to Sunako. And i didn't want him to die.


To me, i dun think that whichever side is good or bad.
The villagers was killed one by one. In the all-out war, its very obvious that the human is winning. They look damn cruel and scary when killing the Shiki. But this is to protect themselves.
I dun think the Shiki is wrong to hunt humans too, if they dun hunt, they will strave. Just like human kill animals for food. And the Shiki didn't want to to be like this either. They still feel guilty of murdering people, but they had no choice. A bit sad to died two times also. Their death are very brutal.
Everyone are just fighting for survival, thats all. Thats nothing wrong.
This is a great anime, its entertaining in a odd way, as in like i keep want to know what will happened next. Every ep is filled with infomations. 9/10 for this anime =D

Weak

I have realize that i'm very weak. In terms of studies and strength. Lazy to say the details of why i feel like that.
I want to be someone that is good at studying as well as fighting.
Will work hard towards them.

Maybe i should treat ppl nicer by not care them. Its their business, their way, their thinking, their problem. Thats what i learnt from my past.
